Another project update, and this time our work that launched earlier this year creating a new store concept with Marks & Spencer.
We have worked with M&S to design the new Clothing and Home concept for Stevenage and beyond. Created to reflect the Design Vision of "Effortless inspiration for life", the concept creates a flowing journey through Fashion, Footwear, Lingerie, Beauty, Menswear, Kids, and Home.
The concept features some key anchors, beauty, home fragrance and footwear all have a very distinct identity, created with the use of a very natural palette of complimentary materials. Brands and Sub-Brands are featured across all departments, helping the visitors navigate the space.
The space is flexible, with a very consistent approach to perimeter merchandising across all product groups and a series of stand-out moments centre floor that create the drama. The shell materials are simple, a concrete textured floor, warm grey wall panels and an open ceiling give the space a very contemporary feel.
Lighting is a key enhancement to previous concepts, relying on a very flexible spot and track to the majority of the store and highlighting walkways with a raw LED pendant strip light. A soft concealed uplight glow runs continuously around the perimeter, creating a very calming backdrop to the stock.
There is an emphasis on service, with enhanced fitting rooms and the introduction of self-serve tills to deliver an effortless experience.
In recent years M&S have invested heavily in a very successful concept for their Food offer, this recent development in Clothing and Home matches that ambition to deliver a concept that delivers on the brand goal to be, relevant, ownable, authentic and engaging.
