November saw M&S undertake its busiest-ever month of store openings and renewals with our new Clothing & Home concept
This November, M&S has undertaken their busiest ever month of store openings and renewals, which has seen 6 new stores and 3 store renewals opening, including 3 new ‘full-line’ stores in Birmingham Bullring, Lakeside Thurrock, and Manchester Trafford Centre.
It is great to see the new Clothing & Home concept we created is a key part of this strategy. Initially launched in Stevenage last year, and followed by the launches in Leeds, White Rose, and then Liverpool earlier this year, and now being developed and applied to this month's new launches and renewals.
We defined the new vision and concept to revitalise M&S's non-food experience, creating an experience that delivers on the brand goal to be, relevant, ownable, authentic and engaging. This new concept creates a flowing and engaging journey through Fashion, Footwear, Lingerie, Beauty, Menswear, Kids, and Home.
Stuart Machin, the chief executive of M&S, ‘The outperformance of our recently relocated and renewed stores gives us the confidence to go faster in our plan. Our investment in stores not only delivers a better experience for customers and colleagues, it boosts local communities with new job creation and will help us deliver a more sustainable estate in every sense.’
