We’re delighted to have worked with kikki.K on its first appearance in the UK – a pop-up space shortly followed by a permanent store, both situated in the heart of London in Covent Garden.
Welcoming customers in store with the slogan ‘Hej London!’, the 1,291sqft pop-up demonstrates the brand’s authentic story, Swedish heritage and design philosophy through a unique and richly engaging example of ‘storytelling through stationery’.
A playful animated projection wall brings the kikki.K story to life, where illuminated details projected onto a paper art display create individual narratives.
Meanwhile, the brand’s design heritage is celebrated by the showcase of eight iconic products recommended by kikki.K’s loyal fans. We partnered with acclaimed British artist Lydia Shirreff to create beautiful handcrafted paper sculptures to communicate each individual product story, displayed on gallery-style plinths around the store. Each story is accompanied by a personal customer testimony and a soundscape from Kristina.
Two artistic installations further demonstrate kikki.K’s creative passion. Behind the cash desk, kikki.K’s brand values ‘Dream. Do. Joy. Share’ are expressively spelt out by a wall installation composed of nearly two thousand white pencils.
In the centre of the space an intricate paper sculpture features reams of pages unfolding from an iconic kikki.K 365-day journal, suspended mid-air as if blown by a gust of wind.
The permanent 765sqft store located on James Street continues this compelling narrative. With a neutral palette, clean lines and whitewashed wood finishes, the space feels quintessentially Swedish – as if stepping inside the studio of the brand’s founder, Kristina Karlsson – and even features a row of silver birch trees in the shopfront. Rich product storytelling unfolds through styled workspace nooks, and mood boards spotlighting the inspiration behind each collection. Meanwhile, hero product displays explain why kikki.K loves a particular item, their reason for making it and how to use it.
The two stores distill our new global store concept, which debuted in Chadstone, Melbourne earlier this year.
