Generating the most buzz so far during this year’s London Design Festival is Curiosity Cloud. Commissioned by the champagne house Perrier-Jouët, it’s the first piece the rising-star duo Mischer’traxler (from Vienna) have shown in the UK. 250 mouth-blown glass globes hang within the V&A’s famous Norfolk House Music Room. Within each globe, a variety of hand-fabricated insect species flutter. And when visitors move around within the installation, the globes light up and the insects react by flying, tapping against the glass with their wings.
Discover why it’s been so popular with this video. Don’t worry if you want to go there, it doesn’t spoil the great feeling you get walking around surrounded by these little insects.
