To ease our hangovers from last night’s D&P social, we cycled down to the ICA for a lunchtime lecture featuring Peter Cook (founder of Archigram). The talk centred on the ‘Bau magazine,’ a little-known Austrian magazine co-edited by Hans Hollein, Walter Pichler and Günther Feuerstein in the 1970s, and looked at how the editors who shared similar ideas to Archigram had progressed in their architectural careers. As you can imagine, most had created some very forward-thinking and experimental buildings.
The talk was a part of a number of warm up events taking place at the ICA in the run up for the exhibition ‘Everything is Architecture: Bau Magazine from the 60s and 70s‘ ( 29 Jul 2015 – 27 Sep 2015 ).
